This essay recounts the history of music education in Bradford from 1849-1875 and chronicles bands in the town from a traveling military band in 1840 through the early 20th century. The article also features a description of music festivals and concerts that occurred between 1870 and 1920 as well as a short recollection of church music in Bradford. Also included are a list of tangible musical exhibit pieces, "Musical Notations - Some Major, Some Minor" and an "Alphabetical list of Bradford musical talent from 1852 to about 1920". The author's handwritten acknowledgement follows specifically thanking John Huden and.referring to his book on Bradford history.
